Have you ever thought about volunteering? If so, we are on the look out for support in the Group. This could be an hour a week as a member of our Executive Committee, or you could consider helping at one of the Sections on a more regular basis. You do not have to come into uniform if that is what is putting you off. If you just wanted to help out more often than being on the parent rota, please let me know as you will need to complete an Occasional Helper form.
Working with Young People
It is vitally important that if you do wish to help occasionally or more regularly than once a month, we must have an Occasional Helper form completed which incorporates a DBS check. This is to protect all of the young people in our care. Please contact me in the first instance. This is needed especially if you would like to help out at Camps in 2017.

We Need You!
If you are interested in becoming an Occasional Helper, or a Leader or Assistant Leader in Uniform, please get in contact with David Long.
The 3rd Devizes is growing in numbers and would welcome any new young people, both girls and boys. If anyone is interested in finding out more about the Beaver Scouts (Years 3 & 4), Cub Scouts (Years 5 & 6) or Scouts (Older Year 6 to Year 9), then please contact our Group Scout Leader (see Contact Us). We currently have limited vacancies in some of our groups for both boys and girls and a growing waiting list.
Vacancies
We are currently looking for a couple of Assistant Beaver Scout Leaders to help Adel or a Sectional Assistant (non uniformed leader).
We are also looking for a new Scout Leader as both Chris and Alistair have decided to step down for personal reasons.
We are looking for a new Group Scout Leader.
We have vacancies on our Executive Committee.
Please contact our Group Scout Leader if you are interested in finding more about a role with us or if you wish to come along and see what we do one evening. You may have been a leader in the past and now wish to dust down your old uniform, but if you have no experience then full training at no cost to you will be given.
Our group is split up into 3 all dependent on age. We meet at St Josephs School in Devizes and the timings of our meetings are:-
• Beaver Scouts – Tuesday’s 5:45 to 6:45 – Ages 6 to 8 – Leader Adel McMahon - Assistant Leader (acting) Bettina Hill
• Cub Scouts – Wednesday’s 6:00 to 7:30 – Ages 8 to 11 – Leader Ruth Jordan - Assistant Leaders Pete McAnaw and Bettina Hill.
• Scouts – Every other Wednesday 7:30 to 9:00 – Ages 11 to 14 – Leaders - Chris Feerick-Batten & Alistair Tilley - Assistant Leaders Vacant
